If you’ve recently visited the site you may have noticed some changes and wacky things going on. Well, I decided to create my very own social site for everyone who wants to get healthy and lose weight.
As I mentioned in last nights post, talking with people who are going through the same struggles as you can help you stay focused, find solutions and push harder, so what better way to surround myself with inspiration and motivation?
Before you jump on board though, I may be making some changes and upgrading to a better system. I am in test mode right now and have just found a program that I think will work better.
That being said, if you pop by and see weird things happening, it’s likely not your mind playing tricks:)
Watch for me to announce the GRAND OPENING and I hope you decide to join me on my journey!

I just finished watching the biggest loser and was left feeling even more inspired than usual. This week they went to Texas to help bring to light the problem of obesity and motivate a state that has 5 of the 10 biggest (obese) cities in America.
Listening to the stories of those people that joined them in their 5K run almost brought me to tears. Watching the woman who had to use a cart to get around Walmart actually finish the 5K was amazing. I could just feel the pure pride and joy she radiated.
I’m sure you know, if you are trying to lose weight, how hard it is to stay motivated and on track. Watching and listening to people in the same situation who manage to gather the strength to keep pushing even when they don’t think they can makes me think “I really can do this“. It makes me want to push myself that much harder. It makes me want to overcome my own obstacles. It makes me want to stop making excuses.
I’ve noticed since watching the show that I tend to push myself a little harder each time. The only thing I shy away from is running. I’ve been told because of my hip that I should only do low impact exercises, but I hate being told I can’t or shouldn’t do something. So, I think I’m going to try and start some slow running. It’ll be short stints to start, but I’ll keep pushing further.
How do you stay motivated and inspiring?

Every Saturday morning I set out to plan the meals for the week. My goal is to keep it as cheap as possible, as healthy as possible and well, something everyone will eat. I don’t know about you, but I find it more and more difficult to plan meals on a budget these days.
Here in Canada food is more expensive. I don’t know why. And we don’t have the same selection as you do in the states. That’s why whenever we make it down to the states the grocery stores for me are like a day at the mall for others.
Planning for a family of 5 with 3 almost all teenagers is tough. On top of that, I’m trying to make our meals healthier which, as I’m sure any mom would understand, is greeted with all kinds of attitude.
Lunches are pretty easy, but I’m trying to add more variety. Breakfast is always on the fly and usually a peanut butter on rye with fruit of some sort. But dinners, they are scary! They need to be quick or well planned in advance and they MUST be yummy!
In my search for cheap dinners I came across a few sites you might be interested in. I will often use these for ideas:
Family.com 15 Cheap Dinners (They also have some pretty good crock pot ideas)
Recipe.com
Netmums.com
Betty Crocker
Kraft Canada
So while I sit here writing this with no real point to make, I just realized that I am stalling. Off I go to make my list….
